It is crazy to think that this time last January,
Miles was a wee little speck in my tummy.
One year later, and this cutie is lighting up our lives!
At his well-check last two Thursdays ago (:/),
Miles weighed in at 20 pounds, 13.5 ounces
and measured 27.75 inches long.
(For reference, Max was the same length at six months -
just three pounds lighter. :))

These days Miles is wearing 6-9 or 9 month clothes
and size 3 diapers (size 4 at night).
He nurses 5-6 times a day
and eats solids at breakfast, lunch and dinner!

We started back up with sweet potatoes,
this time with much better success. :)
So far, Miles has also tried butternut squash, apples, avocado, banana, peas, asparagus,
mango, and prunes - plus oatmeal and rice cereal.
Miles goes to bed about 7:15-7:30pm and sleeps until about 6:30-7:00am,
though he does still wake at least once a night.
I'm not sure if that is because he's still in the room with Mama and Daddy
(who are quick to try quieting him so they can get back to sleep!)
or because of teething or what, but I'm trying to psych myself up for the big move!
He takes pretty good naps though - two 2-hour naps and a short catnap in the late afternoon.

Miles is sitting up really well, and is stable enough
that we've moved him out of his bath chair and into the tub on his own!
This kid is always rolling or scooting.
It is amazing how far he can move without actually crawling!
It is funny to watch him rock side to side like a slo-mo army crawl
to get closer to what he wants. Hey - it works. :)
He is often up on all fours rocking back and forth.
Miles wants so badly to move forward
(and he can kind of flop in a forward direction)
but the crawling motion just hasn't happened yet.
Any day now!
He has started vocalizing more - and being vocal about his preferences.
Miles does not like initially being put in the carseat
and especially when Mommy walks away.
Oh, and if you don't get the food to his mouth fast enough. :)
We pulled out the jumperoo just after Christmas
and Miles loves it almost as much as Max does!
Miles likes playing peekaboo, grabbing his feet during diaper changes,
bouncing on Mommy's lap, and chewing on things both food and non.
He is especially good at grasping things now- like Mommy's hair.
He's also developed this funny habit of giving cheek zurberts.
This kiddos giggles are the sweetest, most heartwarming you've ever heard.
Thankfully, he freely shares them!

Happy half-birthday, sweet Miles!
You bless our lives with your sweet spirit and squishy baby thighs. :)
